>>7773 You're right, /Δ/ isn't the right board to ask that kind of question. You might have better luck on the IRC. My DNS resolves wikipedia.org to 208.80.154.224. If you can connect to that IP, it's probably not a DNS problem, if you can't, it probably is.

Where is your vps located would be the first question. It could be automatically set inside your country as they try to improve performance or the company might simply follow local law once they recognice you as a citizen due to geoip.

Your ISP or government firewall filters all traffic through DPI since connection between you and VPS is not encrypted. It drops all DNS requests to wikipedia and porn sites. Try ssh tunnel or openvpn server. ssh -D 5222 username@hostname -N Set browser to use proxy at localhost port 5222 From ssh manual: Whenever a connection is made to this port, the connection is forwarded over the secure channel, and the application protocol is then used to determine where to connect to from the remote machine. Currently the SOCKS4 and SOCKS5 protocols are supported, and ssh will act as a SOCKS server. Only root can forward privileged ports. Dynamic port forwardings can also be specified in the configura‐ tion file.
