I got some gamecube games at a yard sale for really cheap but they're scratched pretty badly and don't work, anyone have success with disc resurfacing? I've also heard toothpaste can buff out scratches but that sounds like a meme to me.

Stay away from the wives'-tales stuff and send them to a disc repair company (ask if they repair Mini CDs first).
Buffing discs scratches them more if you don't know what you're doing, so avoid that too.
