What to study for to be on the forefront of technology?

BloodCat · 2018-01-04 11:08
The only degree I know that might bring me there is mathematics.
John Doe · 2018-01-04 11:41
Is math even required to be a master wizard? Learning how data is organized seems more important (bits, computer arch., low level sokyaf...) I don't see how math can be useful other than a few niche applications
Morpheus · 2018-01-04 11:54
>>7031 I've heard it's relevant in developing new fields, like ISAs and Cryptography.
Tank · 2018-01-04 13:42
>>7031 It is, but the foundational approach on the pic isn't. Only mathematicians, theoretical physicists and math-oriented comp. sci. reaearchers need to know this level.
Agent Jones · 2018-01-04 14:00
>>7033 how do i reach this level of mastery?
Neuromancer · 2018-01-04 14:35
Nanotech, biotech, mechatronics...
Motoko Kusanagi · 2018-01-04 14:48
I hope this pic ain't a total meme. I'm gonna start with that logic book tonight.

>>7034 Just use MIT opencourseware, there is a godd differential equations course on edx, check university syllabuses.
Donna Hawthorne · 2018-01-04 19:46
Start learning about machine learning. That`s gonna be huge
Tequila · 2018-01-05 21:05
>>7044 Machine learning is just the cool new name for artificial intelligence. People have been saying AI "will be huge" for 40+ years now.
The Phantom Phreak · 2018-01-07 08:30
>>7068 >People have been saying AI "will be huge" for 40+ years now. ...and they were right. ml is huge.
Unnamed · 2018-01-07 10:10
>>7100 But lisp needed to fall before AI succeeded.
