The launch of the SingularityNET AGI token is upon us.
This company is creating a network powered by blockchain technology that Artificial Intelligence can be traded between using the AGI token.
This will become a huge business in the future and we are witnessing the birth of something very exciting.

I found out about this after researching Numeraire which I found out about from Lain. This token has doubled since I bought it so thanks anon. I predict big things for both in the future!

Ok. cool.
Now someone explain why I should invest in a currency that lets me "trade" "AI." Exactly what is being traded? Is it computation time? Some sort of generalized patterns learned by nets? Or is it meme mana? Does it have a whitepaper and is it proven to work? If so, link the appropriate items here.
This may very well be an amazing, useful thing with potential to grow, but this post reads like a markov bot that stitched technophile buzzwords together. I need more concrete data to be willing to look into this further.

It doesn't have a whitepaper

Sounds like vaporware. How do you even quantify "artificial intelligence"? You'd need to for the ledger to make any sense.

It's suppoesd to be a protocol to connect "AI"s

ah so... it's just a network for trading AI resources. Neato, but not exactly groundbreaking.

Chances are, like most cryptocurrency "initial coin offerings", it is just a money-making scheme. They use the language of technology and new invention to make it seem more appealing and drive up the price so that they can profit more by selling the tokens.
Businesses in bitcoin and bitcoin-adjacent currencies are pure unregulated libertarian free-market economics at work. Everyone is trying to scam everyone else in the newest and most creative way, or sometimes in the least creative way possible: "honest ponzi schemes" are a significant portion of the market, and even have their own subform on the bitcointalk forums.
I suggest reading this article, which is an excerpt from David Gerard's book about bitcoin:

This is a really well-written article. It's a damn shame because blockchain seems like a really good way to solve the problem of distributing and maintaining the same state between remote systems. Now we have VC scum trying to milk its main application for money before the whole thing finally gets a bad name.
IIRC Satoshi did want to create an alternative currency... but I kind of wonder if it would have been better to start with some like namecoin or filecoin, and take coin out of the name.
