I want to delve into it more

Some of the best books on computer architecture and hardware are no longer in print. I will have to go through my collection and post some titles, perhaps there's a PDF of them somewhere...

A good book for a beginner is Computer Organization and Design: The hardware software interface.
It starts from zero, but dives very deep into the topic.

>today tech of picture manipulation can't get a realistic PDFs from pics of well lit book pages
not like I didn't do this a few times
I am not the kind of person that suggests things that I don't support myself.
Your anger is kind of misdirected fam, no need for "fuarrrk off".
I hope you get chillaxed a bit in your life btw

The Architecture of Computer Hardware, System Software, and Networking - An Information Technology Approach
by Irv Englander
It's a really great read, written in a very approachable way for most people, but also going really in-depth about these topics at the same time

This.
Charles Petzold explains it all in prose.

Can we start putting PDFs?

pic related is a good intro (sorry no pdf look it up it's easy)
Also beginners.re provides a nice view of how different processors may implement different ABIs
osdev.org covers a lot of detail, mostly on the x86/64 architecture which is very valuable.
I just had to troubleshoot a laptop with a faulty ACPI block that didn't let some kernels boot and I went straight into osdev to figure it out... and it worked! So yeah, very good resource indeed.

I second this. Great intro book, gives a fantastic in-depth overview on the journey from the electron to the OS.
After this, I can't recommend enough Bebop To The Boolean Boogie. It's a guide to digital logic circuits, and the best damn one out there, at that.
