Does anyone have any recommendations for a 144hz monitor? Yeah, I know it's a meme, but I'm trying to get one because I enjoy playing games and it looks sooo smooth on 120+ hz.
I'm not really sure what to look for, but I am trying to avoid anything with the title "Gaming" in it, as it usually suggests its a gimmicky marketing ploy.

dont think you can get anything but gaming soykaf at 144hz.

I've got a Asus VG248QE and it works really well. Its not the best picture, but its the cheapest 144hz monitor I could find for under 250 bucks without soykaf reviews(also, don't trust amazon reviews). "Gaming" isn't explicitly in the title, but it will probably be in the description because I'm guessing that's their main market. That being said, it's still good for the price.

It markets directly to your interests, and just because it's marketing doesn't mean it's somehow false. If you want a monitor geared towards gaming, you can be fairly certain it's going to have the word "gaming" somewhere in the marketing materials.

I was eyeing this one up. Good to know you like it. I use two standard ASUS monitors currently, they're good enough for me. I'll probably end up getting your model

I don't know, it seems a meme. From what I know, human vision can only perceive up to ~50hz, no difference beyond that.
You could try to get a PWM display instead, that probably would be better:

This is the real meme here. There is nothing to back this up.

You can definitely see a difference in smoothness on a 120HZ monitor. It's undeniable.

he he he
144hz is great but the difference isn't worth the price unless you take your shooters seriously. It gives you more data to work with when tracking moving targets. I'll never be able to go below 100hz for shooters since buying one.

Try older generation Acer predator monitors. You can get them on the cheap since they're becoming outdated and people prefer the slim frame monitors now. They still do 144hz.
