You basically use email as a WhatsApp replacement. It's in the beginning of development yet, but it's neat.
I really like the idea. Everybody has email, you can have privacy if you want, and it does not lead to a multiplication of closed protocols.
What do you think?

The "everyone has an e-mail" argument isn't all that great, though, because noone wants their mail cluttered with all their chatlogs.

It's enough for me.
I'm willing to create an email exclusively for chatting, where i control what data the email has related to me, a cellphone chip or smartphone data is far, far more tricky.

Its very easy to have a filter that puts all the chat messages in a folder.
