Sorry if this is the wrong board for this, been a long time lurker.
I'm sick of paying for train tickets just so I can get to work on each day. Is there anyway to spoof these QR code things for the train gates to open each time? I haven't experimented much.
I have 0 coding or programming knowledge btw.

Most likely when you pay, the system talks with the mothership and generates an OTP (One time password) or similar. The QR code is just a image representation of the OTP url.
So to spoof them you'd likely need to figure out how to force the mothership to generate an OTP for you which is likely not an option for you.

In theory, if you can figure out the sequence of numbers (assuming they are non-random tokens like DDMMYYPASS###SEQUENCE) you could make a keygen, then just convert the strings into QR codes, which you could use to try to take other peoples pass numbers essentially using someone else's pass. If you have a number of passes from previous days, you could try to discern a pattern in them (which parts may be a time/date code and which parts are random or sequential)
Be wary that the context of doing this may violate some severe transport laws in your area, and you could be hammered with jail or fines for fraud.

Taking the train without paying is common in the area, you just need to be lucky enough for the train to be on a platform without a ticket gate or just avoid the inspector.
half my trains to work are behind a ticket gate sadly.
I'll look into what the QR codes say next time I buy a ticket.

Depending on how they check, you could buy a ticket and only activate it when they come to check. On buses people just showed a screenshot but some bus drivers have caught on. It really depends on how attentive the people are.
