Honestly, I just want to improve my life and see true beauty while still enjoying technology and not being a N.E.E.T and relying on it for happiness.
Let me tell you a story.
I had to go clothes shopping again, not being able to find anything in XXL is honestly sometimes really embarrassing and down putting, I used to fit into XL like a glove and I was fine with that.
But now I've knocked myself up to XXL cause of all the junk food, fast food, weed and booze I consumed during 2020, also the fact I sat on my ass for almost 3 years straight and turned myself into a total neet didnt help either.
I do live with my parents still and I'm very lucky they let me live here, Its not like I like it though, I know its unacceptable at early 20s, but even without the housing situation I'm honestly tied of living this way. I find myself asking, "why does it never get better" "why am I always so depressed" "why im I so lonely" but I'm starting to learn its my life style that's making me depressed and lonely. I've lived on discord for the last 3 years of my life, I gave up on going out with IRL friends to hang out with my discord buddies and play games.
Now half of these discord buddies are either, vanished, have real jobs, and the other half I started to learn are total assholes who treat me like soykaf, don't even give me the time of day, leave me on read all the time and don't value our friendship. I have close to no one but my childhood friend who is like a sister to me.
I've decided I'm tired of it Lainons, I'm tired of living this way. I got on my skateboard for the first time in almost over 4 years, I'm not gonna lie, I ate total ass and fell super hard and fuarrrked my right arm, lowerback, and right knee up badly but I after I felt alive, a rush of adrenaline nothing discord or games could ever give me....
So yeah, any tips? dieting tips, how to ditch sugar, carbs? finding new people and groups?
I'm starting community college, and I know some people might be like "do a trade bro" or something, but you gotta understand, I've not been in a school setting for 3 years, I'm so braindead I need to learn my basics again with actual pressure, I need deadlines, I cant study by myself or ill get lazy and quit.
Any lainons who are willing to help and talk with me would be greatly welcome, I don't exactly need advice.
Just a young adult needing help getting out of his damn shell after leaving highschool, IDK why I didn't adapt to life so well, it makes me feel like a soykaf person.

Start by installing a diet tracking app, I use lose it but its not FOSS and is buggy and bloated as hell so you might want to look elsewhere, but install something.
Set yourself a regular weight loss goal, an easy one to aim for especially if you're a bit overweight is 1.5-2lbs a week, which works out to a 4500kcal a week or 750 a day calorific deficit. Stopping drinking or cutting down hard and stopping drinking sugary drinks is the easiest and most efficient improvement to make to your diet. if you're heavy enough that you're worried about your joints when doing something high impact, cycling or swimming are good.
Choose an exercise that you're going to do regularly, running is the most universal one, c25k is pretty good, but skateboarding or whatever will also work, just make sure you're getting at least 2-3 hours good exercise a week, add in strength training, either bodyweight or at the gym if you want to improve the way you look and your posture, I just do some bodyweight soykaf in like 10 minutes a day and it works great.
You can shed weight super quickly at the start by stopping snacking, cutting out sugary drinks, and cutting the booze, once you're down to merely pudgy it becomes a bit harder but that will still be a massive improvement
For finding friends, sporting and hobby clubs are the best option, if you're doing a new sport anyway, join a club for it, there are always plenty of new people in any moderately popular, accessible sport or hobby and its an easy in.
Also get a fuarrrking job, even a temp job even if its cleaning floors or whatever, it will get you some money, make your parents less worried about you and teach you some self worth, and also will help plug the hole in your CV, it is easier to get ahead in life and get a good job so long as you have any job of any kind. Hospital cleaning is a good one, it was my first job, zero skillset needed and it's almost always available.

Thanks for the reply BTW, I enjoy to hike, or well I did before I got super unhealthy and lazy I'm gonna try to go on at LEAST an hour hike 3 days a week so that would be a good start.
When it comes to cutting out sugary drinks, I just wish it was more easy, sugar and caffeine is really a drug and I find myself always taking in some sort of sugar even if it isn't soda, but I think I've been getting better at trying to at least limit my intake when it comes to carbs, calories, fat and sugar, now that needs work.
And I did have a job for a while, from the start of March to around the end of June, it was a temporary job at a restaurant pretty much being the "restaurant staff" or as I like to call it "everyones bitch"
I'm trying to reconnect with some older friends cause honestly as sad as it is to say, I kind of become antisocial, mostly in the sense of creating a new connection with someone. Most of my friends I've had for almost my entire life, or at least my entire teenage years so our connections are (or mostly "were" now) really close.

A few bits of advice that I've observed work very well for me, as well as some other thoughts your post give me.
1) Drop the booze. It's no good for you and it makes a huge difference in useless calorie intake.
2) Walk. Seriously, it's a great exercise that requires fairly little equipment, if you don't want to do it outside for some reason, mechanical treadmills are cheaper than the motorized versions and better exercise anyway.
3) When taking weed, don't snack. Drink tea or similarly low-calorie but tasty things. Tea will also fill your stomach in general and so limit hunger.
4) Get something for depression, if you truly are affected (get that checked). If you snack to deal with its effects, it's probably worse than any weight-gain effects some antidepressants have (not all of them).
5) A trade is probably the best investment you can do for schooling for minimal length, minimal cost, lower difficutly and maximum returns.
Living with your folks as unacceptable is kind of a weird thing, that's a very American way of seeing it. It's especially nonsensical considering the typical debt problems and bad wages over there.

Decaff is still an option for a lower intake of caffeine, or just because you like the taste. Yes, decaff still contains some.

Posting only one, nobody bother replying, so pay attention:
Read the following
>New Atkins for a New You, Eric Westman
>The Real Meal Revolution, Tim Noakes
>The Diabetes Diet, Richard Bernstein (or the whole Diabetes Solution, albeit it's much more info on both types of diabetes, this would be the one book I'd give any t1dm)
Related to the diet you'll find all pertinent studies, arguments, refutations, citations etc. within these following books
>The Big Fat Surprise: Why Butter, Meat, and Cheese Belong in a Healthy Diet, Nina Teicholz
>Good Calories, Bad Calories - Fats, Carbs, and the Controversial Science of Diet and Health, Gary Taubs
>The Case Against Sugar, Gary Taubs
>The Case For Keto, Gary Taubs
>Carnivore Code, Paul Saladino
>Real Food on Trial: How the Diet Dictators Tried to Destroy a Top Scientist, Dr. Tim Noakes, Marika Sboros
All these books are reference heavy, and I'd recommend, if you've the fortitude or rudimentary science/statistical knowledge, to look everything up. If not, try it and see why thousands to millions of N=1's can point to a general truth.
Lastl, keep in mind, this is way human's have most likely evolved to eat (cannot be stated absolutely, but evidence in the opposite field is scant and weak to nonexistent). So if you want it off, you can't or shouldn't go back to whatever you were doing up til now, once you get to a desired goal.
What that, godspeed.

For ditching sodas I suggest finding some zero sugar alternatives. Artificial sweeteners aren't as bad as people say they are.
Flavored sparkling water is another good one, also usually zero sugar and usually just as strong flavored as water. Doesn't really taste anything like sour unflavored sparkling water, the sweetener usually cover that up.
As far as nootropics go I take 200 mg L-theanine and 100 mg of caffeine. Really helps with anxiety and the L-theanine helps to get rid of the jitters.
For eating healthy just think to yourself "is this healthy" every time you go to eat something, no need to complicate it too much.

summary so you dont have to waste ages reading all these books, they are usually very sparse in the amount of information and spend too much time building up a narrative.
- fat should be your primary energy source. fats are easier on the body than carbohydrates, are necessary for building up cellular components, and they regulate cell growth better by pushing old cells more towards cell death and keeping stem cells around. most "science" condemning fats is either wrong or caused by processed vegetable oils which degrade easily into toxic byproducts. for cooking best is saturated (butter, coconut, lard) otherwise olive oil. fish fat very good, fish oil tablets bad because rancid and gross.
- dont have too much sugar its stressful for your body in large amounts. rice bread pasta etc are just different forms of sugar.
- eat "real" food. either fresh or what your grandmother would make.
- going for longer without food (eg most of a day) will cause your body to learn to regulate its metabolism better and give time for your organs and blood vessels to recover. eating and digesting is a bit stressful so your body needs a break (also dont eat right before bed for this reason).

Just don't eat pure trash and keep track of your caloric intake and drink water frequently. No special diet necessary unless there is some other goal than weight loss. Look up a "calorie calculator" to find what your daily caloric intake needs to be to maintain your weight and to lose weight. Don't go too low in calories or that puts your body in starvation mode. Also dont rely solely on calorie labels because they arent exactly a precise science, monitor your weight once a week weighing yourself around same time of day every time and make minor adjustments accordingly. Also you could try intermittent fasting at least once in a while.
Living with your parents in your 20s is the norm these days not the exception.

I will tell you what happened to me. I had gotten fat, 240 pounds at 5'8. Then my disastrous marriage ended, and I was sad, so I covered the windows with towels, and even nailed the front door shut.
I laid on the floor and played the Sims for a month. I was not hungry, so I did not eat.
After a month, I had lost over 50 pounds.
I have kept it off by only eating one meal a day. I eat whatever I want, until I'm full. When you're hungry, that's a treat.
I did the initial fast over 10 years ago.
good luck

Understand that the internet becomes a cocoon, that envelopes you. Like a real spider web you get caught in the web of the internet and can't leave. Discord and video games will not help you. First thing is to cut your ties to the internet. More than likely it feels comfortable to be online, confortable because no one can see you. But that detachment will kill you. Mentally and physically.
You are a MAN, only children need to suckle the teet of the internet mother for plesure and comfort. Instead of sucking the teet of the internet mommy, use that energy to find comfort in chaos, into radical change, into getting back in touch with nature.
This idea of the internet being a "mother" that zaps your energy is mainkly from Jungian psychology. Meme Analysis on youtube has some amazing videos. Just don't get sucked down the alt right jordan peterson rabbit hole and remember that masculine and feminine archetypes does not mean gender. Going down that path is a surefire way to more suffering.
Separate your ideas of sex and whatever kind of person you are attrracted to away from porn. We all have things we watch that are kind of not based in reality, things we would never do IRL and only save for porn. Instead of masturbating every second of everyday, wastiung that energy, learn to control it more. Dont do the nofap meme, but learn your urges, learn that your body will push you to desire and learn how to use that desire as a driving force to workout, create something, learn a new skilll or just get back in nature.
College will be a good route to meeting new people. A good piece of advice was to talk to everyone the same way, don't treat one gender differently from the other, if you want romance you need a friendship / friendliness baseline first. Just talk to people, compliment people on what they are wearing, ask questions about them. People like to talk about themselves. Don't be afraid. You can do it friend.

Not OP but my body associates that soda with magnesium citrate for some reason and I get diarrhea. Both were cherry flavored and the magnesium citrate kinda tasted bubbly though not carbonated.
I sometimes buy, though not often, pure carbonated water and add crystallized lemon and real stevia (most 'stevia' sweeteners are not mostly stevia but artificial) in my own diet as a sort of treat. I lightly stir.
I have a botany card I put a variant of on my fridge and also carry in my wallet along with other notes/cards. I mentioned lentils before up there but was not feeling well.
Folded in half so it fits, cards says "ideal botany" on either side, and in order of most frequent and or quantity wise, ideally though not actually as I cheat:
1) lentil (very filling, read it's good for blood sugar, very high in protein and low in carbs that are hard to digest, it's high in fiber so you feel full, it cooks much faster than other legumes. I have it as a soup with the lemon(crystallized) and listed spices, mushrooms and or potatoes, or just lentils with spices+lemon)
2) potato (whole protein and adds carbs if needed)
3) white mushroom (read that it might have b12 due to a bacterium growing along it's outside edges, plus filling in my lentil soups)
4) kale (calcium but I cheat with low fat string cheese, 50 cal per serving though and only have 4 at most per day of that)
5) bell pepper (I use listed spices to make it better and currently have it with the string cheese bit by bit, spices listed including the lemon)
6) granny smith apple (as another treat)
7) lemon (crystallized, sort of a cheat, and for soups or beverages or for the bell pepper or even the apple to make it more zesty, though that is bad for the teeth)
8) dillweed (soup/bell/kale)
9) paprika (soup/bell/kale)
10) black pepper (soup/bell/kale)
11) garlic (soup/bell/kale)
12) onion (soup/bell/kale)
13) avocado (has fat and lowers cholesterol (for lentil soups))
14) seaweed/kelp (has iodine but cheat with cheese/salt (I'd like to find this in chip form but haven't yet....))
15) olive (has oil and all but also sodium, but I don't currently have this either and have cheese instead (everyone needs some oil and salt ideally))
16) stevia (when making the lemonade and or seltzer lemonade, or sleepytime extra tea, but that's whatever...)
17) peanut (sometimes in a hurry I'll have cooked peanuts or just peanut butter or even a peanut butter sandwich, though that is cheating it is technically possible to make flat bread from lentils + water and nothing else in a skillet. They take far too long to make from scratch, it's sad. (And also ideally peanuts 'can' be made into an oil like olives I have read))
18) hawthorn (do not have, though it is in the sleepytime extra tea (if only they didn't grind it up so much I could separate the ingredients...) it is the last ingredient and I am on ace instead, for hypertension, but the idea is to be in control of my life here with things one could grow...I have seeds for a bush but have no place to plant them (yet))
As it is I've not even tried kelp nor hawthorn, I'm poor after all and have not but what EBT lets this neet buy. I should eat more kale but eat cheese instead...
The ingredients for sleepytime extra tea are basically chamomile, tilia leaves (but why?), spearmint (I love this), valerian root (kind of makes people sleep but not really), lemongrass (could one outfox growing a lemon tree this way....? I doubt it), and hawthorn at the end. I think... but stevia added to it makes it nicer to drink when I do randomly drink it and I like to with peanut butter (sandwiches). I have it hot of course, the tea, not the little half sandwiches I make off and on.
My overall target diet is 1.5k cal and no more than that along with of course walking every other day 1.3 miles, round journey 2.6 miles. 7.8 through 10.4 miles. I get plantar fasciitis flareups a lot or I'd go out every day, that and shopping every day is weird, walking without groceries to come back with is going to make me look like a drug runner of course.
I may as well '@' the Op with this as well.

2. Drink lots of water
3. Try speed walking for a mile every other day
4. Try to build up muscle
5. If you are having a lot of issues with intrusive thoughts and mood swings, speak to a doctor about taking both Escitalopram (Lexapro clone) and Bupropion when you wake up.
6. Stop watching porn. It is self-imposed c**koldry. Hentai is fine if it is for the plot and comedy.

The short of it is this: EAT LESS, EXERCISE MORE, and EAT RIGHT!
You've probably heard this advice a million times before but it's a million times truer than all those phony shortcuts and bandwagons that people try to sell you. There is no shortcut to good health and strong will.
Eat Less:
Your resting metabolic rate (basal metabolic rate) determines the rate at which your body consumes calories to maintain your organs, muscles, and so on. If you eat the same number of calories as your BMR consumes each day, then you will neither gain nor lose weight. If the current calorie intake you have is leading to weight gain then you simply need to restrict your calorie intake. Unless you know what you're doing, DO NOT go into an outright fast as your body will compensate by decreasing your metabolic rate and will consume your muscles instead. You will lose some weight (most of it in water) but the moment the fast ends you will find that you've gained a few more pounds than before. If you decide to fast, DO YOUR RESEARCH. There are calculators to determine BMR, keeping track of calories in and making sure it's much less than calories out will be of great help to your endeavours.
Exercise More:
Complementary to a reduced caloric intake is an increased metabolic rate. To do this you must, without question, exercise. Start off small by doing 10 push-ups and squats every day in the morning and evening. Start with regressions like wall or knee push-ups and assisted squats for starters if that is difficult for you, but always work to progress the exercise when your body is ready for it, and continue to push your body without jack-rabbiting into exercise that your body isn't ready for. If you keep working at it, you'll keep burning more and more calories, while improving heart and muscle health. You'll feel great too, and you'll have a consistent goal-based task to do everyday that keeps you focused and feeling accomplished. Slow and steady wins the race, but never stop pushing. /fit/ has great resources on this in the sticky, do your own research as well. If you're consistent and committed you will see progress and you will get healthier.
Eat Right:
Not all calories are created equal. A bag of chips will be harder to work off than a bag of lettuce. Since you want to burn fat I recommend sticking with a ketogenic diet as that forces your body to undergo ketosis (a process that metabolizes fat into carbohydrates in absence of any carbs consumed). This will help the body focus particularly on the fat in your body and (at least anecdotally) will increase energy and motivation.
Lastly, consult your doctor or another health professional on your goals and the best way to get there. If you have the will, and you push hard, you will get through this and feel better for it.
best of luck lain

It’s hard lainon, the western world is facing an obesity epidemic for a reason. No medical lifestyle intervention seems to consistently, sustainably work in getting rid of the weight once it’s there. Which isn’t to say that it won’t temporarily shift the weight (if you don’t eat, and continue to respire, it must gol), but you habits will go back, in one way or another.
There is growing evidence that the foods we are encouraged to eat by industrial entities, whose growth can only be sustained by us eating more, have addictive properties, not unlike drugs. A recent example in the media recently is a BBC documentary about ultra processed foods, in which the presenter seems to acquire persistent changes to his brain in response to a temporary ultra-processed food rich diet, that are reminiscent of addiction. Such things, and their financial incentives are also detailed in part 1 of the UK national food strategy.
All I can really suggest is incorporating healthy food into your diet, preferably in a tasty form (get better at cooking it’s a great skill to have). Healthy here means vegetables and home cooking, rather than diet-foods and expensive health products. Eating a good variety of vegetables pretty much assures you of meeting your micronutrient needs, and puts all sorts of interesting molecules in your body. It also seems to feed your gut bacteria rather well.
From my own experience, lifestyle-wise, making an effort with real people is the way. Building mutually supportive friendships, and generally being a good person to others. It gets easier as you feel healthier too, and vice versa.

And look up how many calories every pound of muscle in your body burns per day just by sitting there doing nothing. Muscle passively burns a lot just doing upkeep, so building even a little bit of muscle mass with some curls or whatever you find suits you best (maybe you are a delts guy and those grow big easy, or maybe your lats are easy, experiment around) and then let the muscles do the work for you even while you're being lazy. But of course the end goal is to not be lazy. Like I said, being in decent shape and having a body that doesn't suck ass is a nice perk of the real goal: discipline. your body is very efficient at getting rid of energy consumers, so don't be mistaken by thinking that simply having muscle will burn weight. Your muscles will intentionally hibernate to conserve energy when not in use, and your body will eventually cannibalize the the muscle that you aren't using to save energy (ironically, storing the destroyed muscle as fat in the process. You need to exercise and keep exercising, your fitness is like a shark's gills: if you stop moving, it will stop working.
Anecdotal case in point: used to know this really slim really fit guy who played a LOT of basketball and other sports, became sedentary after graduation and when I met them again 3 yrs later they have a muffin top and scrawny arms. They never changed their diet, they only changed how much they exercised and they turned into a muffin because of it.

I'm in the same-ish position, fat and on and off NEET. I'd recommend you start with physio exercises and calisthenics to make sure everything is properly aligned. You can really hurt yourself if you start to workout and your body is out of balace. Wouldn't listen to the mainstream "just go jogging" stuff running is horrible on the joints. Swimming and cycling are fun ways to sweat. Spices and fermentation can make any boring vegetable tasty. If you have the money buy local organic veg/fruit it usually tastes better and has more nutrients so you stay fuller for longer.
I stopped eating chips by switching to salted roasted seaweed snacks. And made a rule that I can only eat sweets if it's homemade. My weight hasn't changed yet but I can see I have more muscle on my legs and arms now.

Unless you're obese C25K is not going to damage you so long as you do the warm ups and cool downs and wear decent shoes
Organic food is not nutritionally better than regular food so long as you live in a civilized country that has some form of food standards, it may taste better depending on what it is, but this is not guaranteed.
Frozen vegetables and bulk chicken are the king of nutritious food

organic is a marketing term basically, usually it means no pesticides. but an apple breed for high sugar content tastes good, but that untasty apple probably has more of the other stuff and in a sense healthier.

Organic is a legally binding term. Natural is a marketing term with no legal requirement of what natural means. Organic has more standards to it than pesticide free even in the US which has pretty low organic standards compared to many European countries and Canada. Definition varies by country law.

Get some scales for food, and a calorie tracking app on your phone. scan barcodes or upload the nutritional info as needed and weigh your portions and stick to the calorie budget that the app suggests. Record your weight as you go. Calorie restriction like this is incredibly easy and accurate with a smartphone and some scales. Exercise will speed up weight loss but is not strictly necessary

Agent Smith · 2021-09-20 12:13
the thing that made me go from several failed attempted diets into finishing an actually successful one was counting my caloric intake and writing it down. i used an app called "macros" but pen and paper works as well as long as you're willing to google macronutrients. exercise, weigh your food/ingredients, try not to think about it too much, and you'll drop down soon enough

The other lainanons are right. Lentils, eggs, milk, and the like are critical. Cut carbs to a minimum, they trigger insulin production when metabolized. The body uses hormones for multiple purposes, insulin is a primary hormonal trigger for storing calories in fat. I found taking a walk 15-30 mins after a meal helps with digestion and with the blood sugar spike. Ditch soda, it is poison and if you taste it after going a month without it you will be shocked at the syrupy crap you've been addicted to. Keep a water bottle with you at all times, staying hydrated is a big part of having energy. Drink coffee for appetite reduction, add in 100 mg (or more, tailor it to your body) of L-Theanine to avoid jitteriness. Do at least one good thing per day, maybe you feel soykafty and don't want to go to the gym, fine, take a 10 minute night walk with some good music. You'll find that it isn't the actual activity that you fear but the activation energy of switching from being a passive internet node to a human engaged in life. Authenticity matters and will help build the discipline you need to change yourself. If you're into philosophy, https://ytprivate.com/playlist?list=PLND1JCRq8Vuh3f0P5qjrSdb5eC1ZfZwWJ was helpful in understanding how I need to change my mindset. Set goals that are realistic and have incremental milemarkers that provide positive feedback. You need to rebuild your mental reward system from internet addiction. Good luck with the struggle, remember life is hard and that is why it is good.

Mushroom based drinks have been popping up lately like Everyday Dose. Maybe that will work if you can afford the monthly subscription for it.

Try fasting for a couple of weeks with proper consultation with a doc as you may not be able to do so with certain conditions. If you are able to fast then take a daily multivitamin and drink a solution with the proper amount of electrolytes. After you can manage that for a couple of weeks begin weaning yourself off of weed and then booze. If you're fully dependent on alcohol then you need professional help. As one anon said walking is good exercise and its easier to do. Also can you dream?

Oh and you need to exercise if you're fasting or else you'll lose muscle faster than fat.

Don't over do it with the fasting if you choose to do that but as long as you can consult a doctor you should be given clearer advice.

You may not like this tip but I would reccomend going to church/becoming more religious. It may sound dumb but going to church made me realise that I was fat and a glutton. So I started working out (riding my bike, weightlifting etc.) and I stopped eating sweets because I wanted to escape gluttony(and lose weight). I also started getting friends because of church (going to church festivals, joining the altar servers etc.). Overall I lost a lot of weight and even got some muscles and started being happy. Plus I found meaning for my life in the Catholic Church.

I would suggest trying to form small sustainable habits. It doesn't give super speedy results, but should mean you aren't forced to keep up a routine you can't match. To attempt to keep doing things you don't want to do.
For me, this is one social form of exercise a week, and two individual forms (running, swimming). The individual ones I can fit into my own schedule. The social ones keep me excited for exercise.
I wish you best of luck in breaking out of bad habits. Good job on managing to identify them and form the intention of breaking out. Just keep up whatever daily practice you set. Don't judge yourself on previous successes or failures on previous days. Just keep focusing on the present. I believe in you.

Fat loss happens when you are in caloric deficit.
I would recommend Cutting and Weight Training. Join a Gym and start lifting , your body will use your fat as energy to help you build muscle.
Choose a good beginner program , there are ton in r/fitness wiki.
Also, start by removing all junk and other foods, small habit changes leads to drastic changes.
Good luck for your journey.

You get used to unsweetened flavored seltzer much like you do black coffee. It's better than putting artificial sweeteners in your body.

>Oh and you need to exercise if you're fasting or else you'll lose muscle faster than fat.
this doesn't make sense to me experientially or logically. What makes you say this?
Sure you'll probably loose some of both, but cases I've witnessed seem to favour fatloss to muscle loss, at least in cases of fat people.

>Weight Training
Not to completely dismiss weight training in general, but don't overdo it. Remember that the worlds best weight lifters are all fat.
>>7400
Ive heard of studies that made this sound excellent. Obviously not a diet you plan to continue forever but if you can do it in a disciplined fashion and pull off at the right time, the best way to loose a lot of weight fast.
Another fun idea if you just want to go fast: DNP. Obviously only for use in moderation, a solid fat burning drug. Take too much and you'll be toast, however. Like all things, don't over do it.
I do think a problem many weightloss strategies have is that they assume the ideal diet of a fatperson seeking to become normal, is that of a nromal person. It really shouldn't be.

look into "sotaweightloss" I know two people who have used that program, and one has lost 140lbs. and has kept it off. the other started the program about 2 months ago, and has lost 35lbs. Doesn't get hungry, and a coach (part of the program) and has seen great improvements in mood, energy, and a renewed interest in life. Hope this helps. Best of luck to you.

>this doesn't make sense to me experientially or logically. What makes you say this?
It depends highly on how little you're eating, and how much muscle you have to start with. If you're already pretty muscular and switch to a sedentary low-food lifestyle, you'll lose muscle before you lose fat, because muscle requires much more energy to maintain than fat. Generally though if you're a fatty and you don't go completely anorexic, this shouldn't be an issue.

Ex-obese lainon here. One of the best advices I can give you is about persistence, losing weight is a simple but yet hard to maintain process. Take pictures of yourself on the mirror, measure yourself from time to time and pay attention on how you're progressing.
Regardless of the diet and training you start doing the key to achieve good results is knowing your limits, maintain consistency and wait, one day you'll be very grateful for making this change.
Miho Iwakura · 2022-05-05 05:36
I lost 40lbs so far since January and have 30 more to go. My advice would be three things and an extra fourth.
First, CICO, or simply counting your calories is the easiest way of losing weight. By knowing how much you're eating instead of trying to feel for it, you'll be able to accurately gauge your progress.
Count your calories using an app, and measure your weight every day (at the same time of day) and put it into a spreadsheet where you can see the graph develop. You'll start to see the patterns of weight loss, and understand the difference between weekly water weight fluctuations and the general trend.
Secondly, you can't just count your calories without any sort of plan, you want to structure your diet so that you eat a limited amount of calories at certain times every day. For example, for your three meals spaced six hours in between you can limit yourself to 500 calories, and for snacks in between you limit yourself to 100 calories. That way you eat every 3 hours.
The idea is you keep yourself from becoming hungry by eating at spaced intervals. You'll be far less likely to binge eat, just eat your allotted calories and move on and your body will catch up with you. You'll also be surprised how much 500 calories can be.
Third and most importantly, is to stop eating high-sugar foods, and for what would be sugar, switch to high-fiber, high-protein diets. The reasoning isn't for any health reason, but again to stop you from becoming hungry. High-fiber, high-protein foods like beans, lentils, and alternative to staples like brown rice will fill you up for hours. Look into beans that are high with resistant starches, like kidney beans.
There's of course lean meat. AVOID fats, and oils. These are extremely calorie dense. They are the most filling, but they won't fill you up as you eat them and you're more likely to over-eat than under-eat them.
Also replace any kind of soft drink and juice with water and black coffee. I used to hate both, but I quickly got used to it and the thought of drinking anything else feels wrong.
After a month or two of following it, you can start to relax and you'll enter into a lifestyle where you'll just lose weight naturally without even thinking about it. I don't exercise, or count calories, or measure my weight every day. I just look at the clock and know when I should eat and when I shouldn't and I've done that for the past 20lbs.
The fourth extra thing is to keep yourself busy and motivated through drugs and work. Go to a shrink, but DON'T go for SSRIs or anti-psychotics, which increase weight, try to go for Wellbutrin and Adderall. These also decrease appetite and increase motivation. If you can't go to a shrink, use naturally stimulating activities like soft exercise and going outside, or cheap drugs like caffeine. The more depressed you are, the more likely you'll aimlessly try to fill the void with food, only to feed it.

Hey its OP, its been a while my life has drastically improved and I feel so much better then where I was when I made this post.
The situation with the friends is still kind of ass, I don't have a lot of them but I learned its okay to be alone sometimes instead of dreading it, when I'm alone I can do things my way and enjoy my hobbies however I wish and be selfish.
I'm down almost 40 pounds at this point, I know a lot other people would and can drop much more weight in the matter of time I did but I'm trying to just learn over all better eating habits and life style rather then changing my entire diet to just lose weight.
I think the truth is that yeah I am a fat ass, I love food like a crack head and I've always had soykafty metabolism so I pretty much I just accept that fact if I'm gonna binge to idk a holiday, birthday ETC that its gonna take me a week to get it off, but I'm okay with it I'm over all much more happy then where I was before.
Still got some depression here and there but at least I have a job that gives me money to distract me a bit I think thats what the issue was I just sat home and didnt do soykaf.

I just read the subject and this tl;dr.
If you want to lose weight, the easiest method, imho, is fasting. I lost over 20kg by eating every other day for a year. After 6 months back to eating daily I'm still in my target weight of under 20kg.

honestly OP zero sugar stuff is okay as a weaning thing, but treat it like nicotine patches, not as a replacement. I've almost totally quit soda and have like maybe 1 or 2 a year now, water is just better

hey op i put on like 20 pounds during quarantine.
I just put a calorie tracking app on my phone, one where I can scan the barcodes of things or just look them up by name, and am not eating more than 1500 calories. Counting my calories helped me start to lose weight because I realized I was just eating a fuarrrk ton of soykaf all the time because I was bored.
Anyway I'm just trying to lose a pound a week and be back to my original weight by christmas or so.
