Making disruptive things

Molly Millions · 2021-03-27 03:47
Hello Lainons. Say someone got a non trivial amount of cash thanks to the recent altcoin craze and the extremely lenient tax laws of their backwater third world country. Say, enough money to buy an apartment. Say also this lainanon does not expect to live until old age for whatever reason, so they'd rather spend this sum in the next few months/years. In something meningful, if possible. What's the most disruptive thing this person could do/build/fund with their money? How can they best challenge the late-stage capitalist dystopia?

>>6519 > late stage capitalism reminder that red tape is not capitalist and that a collapsing government supersedes and is responsible for a collapsing economy: in part due to ever-growing regulations that suppress the free market at the benefit of corrupt officials on top. Copyright, monopolies, regulatory red tape, "fair trade" and all that other draconian bullshit that America has been pushing as "captialism" is not capitalist - it does not facilitate the free trade of ideas, services, and products. Instead, such policies and principles suppress free trade and support artificial monopolies while screwing small businesses. At this point China's limited economy is more capitalist than California's suppressive tape-bound economy (and America's larger legalistic economy) is. If you want to be disruptive, support the growth of small businesses and deregulation that will end artificial monopolies. Also, how is this /delta/?

>>6549 >reminder that red tape is not capitalist it is, most often red tape is instituted by one corporation to keep other corporations from breaking in to the market. >and that a collapsing government supersedes and is responsible for a collapsing economy economy and government are closely intertwined, even in capitalism and so-called "free markets". So of course government and economy collapse together. >Copyright, monopolies, regulatory red tape, "fair trade" and all that other draconian bullshit that America has been pushing as "captialism" is not capitalist - it does not facilitate the free trade of ideas, services, and products. Capitalism != free trade. Capitalism is when one group of people owns the stuff, and another group works on the stuff. The first group pays the second group wages in exchange for their labor but does not have any specific duties towards them, such as a feudal lord had duties towards his peasants. Free trade is entirely possible without capitalism (international trade flourished long before capitalism emerged in Europe), and obviously capitalism is possible without free trade.

>>6550 >>6554 is right so I'll summarize the bigger picture and leave you to ruminate on it. Capitalism at its core is about the economics of free trade between individuals - the communist definition of capitalism you provided is better defined as "corporatism" since it thinks in terms of socio-economic relationships between upper and lower classes in political struggles between the two. Such socio-economic systems can have capitalistic elements, such as exchange between agents in a system, but such systems themselves are not necessarily capitalistic - since they often involve additional factors or tweaks that trend towards anti-capitalistic principles like welfare, taxes, and wealth distribution. There has never been a _purely_ capitalistic society, organization, etc. Regulatory factors are often imposed on capitalistic economic systems for the claimed benefit of the larger society by imposing regulations and other extra-economic rules that are supposed to prevent instability caused by human greed and vice. At its core capitalism is about the free trade and exchange of goods and services between different people in a society - and so in that sense a completely free market with no regulations at all would be a purely capitalistic society. Unfortunately, again, capitalism in its purest form can only exist in societies with completely rational agents, but humans are not rational agents - they are greedy, they lie, etc - so as a consequence of that there can never be a purely capitalist society. More accurately, most societies exist on a spectrum, the more successful and well off ones tend to lean towards mixed economies (capitalist with regulations). Unfortunately, the political factor in societies is inherently destabilizing and as a result you see a destructive loop where government officials and organizations (sometimes capitalist-influenced, sometimes not) cooperate with each other in a destructive cycle of regulations, unfair laws, bribery, and more until the society reaches a critical point of collapse where the society is restructured. I say this is a political factor because we see this in societies regardless if they are capitalistic or not. The capitalist-leaning societies at their most corrupt will have disparities between groups in the society as we see in all corrupt societies regardless of economic leaning, but at the very least the capitalistic-leaning one doesn't have planned economies and mass starvation in the name of equal outcome. tl;dr * Economy doesn't necessarily equal Capitalism. Economy is a machine, and capitalism can be its engine (but isn't always). You can't escape Economy because it's omnipresent. * Corporatism is not Capitalism, but it does borrow ideas from Capitalism (see China's economy as an example). * Capitalism is about Free Trade (not Fair Trade), but it can't exist in its purest form because societies have a lot more factors at play than just economic factors (Such as political ones, the ones causing global instability right now). I recommend dropping that communist manifesto of yours and picking up a copy of "The Undercover Economist" if you want to learn more about the reality of how economies function and why they function the way they do - instead of believing propaganda written by some dead german guy who couldn't calculate arbitrage to save his life. That is all, have a nice day.

If you really want to make something usefull with your money, you need to be ready to lose all of it. In this world money is 1 of the biggest power, if you use it for go ''against'' the wealthier peoples on earth you will get burn. But still there is a lot of way to use money for something worth it without get burn by these asholle: Fund yourself 1st > the more money you have the more money you can make, this rule is common among poor peoples (90% of world population if not more), ppl usually chose to say well I don't have money so I can't make more, which is half true, if you don't have money you can still try to make money from the nothingness you have, even if you are nude with 0$, you probably still have at least something to work with and build your money from. But all of this DOESN'T ally for you if you say that you are at the lvl of wealth to be able to buy an apartment. YOU CAN AND SHOULD make more money, especially if you want to make something useful to ''change'' the world in a positive way. Also DO NOT give money to ''association'' or to ''charity'' IT'S USELESS (In my opinion), these company / association have absolutely no REAL power in this world and the only power they have is to keep themselves alive, some have clear goal, some real positives intentions, some are just a vast scam, but overall any of them will never change something in a real way, and even if they had the money they wouldn't because human avidity. If you say that you have money and you ask advice to how to use it in something useful and that you ask it HERE. Well the answer is logical and simple = Keep the minimal for live like 20 years on the side, use the half or 30% remaining and invest where you KNOW you can make more and in short time (society is really unstable rn so talking about long term investment is really really stupid and only fool are doing it). The rest ? That's what you can use to change the world. But it's very easy to use your money on useless causes, and very difficult to use it on worth causes. You should think about it yourself. And for finish, if you want to invest it on something usefull that's related to technology, transhumanism, cyberpunk and freedom in general, contact me because I am an error of this society, and I really would like some money for helping me in some obscure projects I cannot talk, and that I won't even talk to you if you were giving me some. At least not the more obscure details. Also just give found to Lainchan please ! I really can't imagine how alone I would be if suddenly the site disappeared. You already know the answers to your question but some are a ''trap'', just use your knowledge and experience to find the ''right'' way for yourself, also waiting is better than using your money when you are not sure or even when you are sure and are about to use some. Sometimes waiting give you more time to avid mistakes. Good luck whatever who you are. And pls don't use it for bad. Ty An error of internet.

You write your unreflected crap as if the world has been like you mention for generations, while the decline in fluctuation of societal elites is since approx beginning 1900, application of effective peacetime nationwide propaganda and government censorship est. 1914 and consumerist society like it is est. 1945™. The collapse of publics into a homogenous mass started in the second half of the 19th century and finished around approx. 1960 when the first TV generation was conceived, and ever since then with aforementioned situations, one could argue a decline in the application of the democratic ideal in the political arena, but that does not definitely mean it is so. It may be your country is some corrupt bureaucracy, since the only nations with an actual heritage are western European, and corruption is pretty low there. Plus, democratic politics literally is stability. And the "greed" and "vice" you so like to mention as Man's nature and destiny is literally the opposite of the development of the free market ideal as made famous by Adam Smith. The possibility of property is where altruism originates, or commercial sociability, as Pufendorf (a major influence on Smith) calls it. Terrorism? Destruction? You are all little babies, watch this: pour enormous concrete blocks, or unrepurposable shapes, possibly reinforced. Buy up waste products or other goods like asbestos that have strict health and safety requirements. fireworks are nice too. Violate the requirements and abandon the warehouse. Bonus points for doing these in high-value residential areas, e.g. filling entire uninhabited apartment complexes with waste or concrete. Even outside high-value areas, most land value can easily be destroyed. Realize the value of permits is in the governing-body's ability to revoke the permit. This of-course, happens post-factum, so it's essentialy a cheatsheet for damage you can do once, a large hand of cards to be played. Whatever you choose to do wrong, someone with a permit will be enlisted to clean up your mess. Store various/different chemicals; powders, liquids, gasses, in unmarked silos on the same site. Document nothing. In addition to cleanup, everything needs to be identified once they figure out there's at least one dangerous substance among it. Collect rare and endangered plants and animals in barely suitable places, so that for each a new home has to be found. Or: in highly suitable places and give the public a stake in it, so that there is outcry when they have to be relocated. These probably do benefit from being excessively documented, along with the relevant laws that prohibit their mistreatment. Provide free shelter for difficult-to-evict groups like anarchists, artists, maybe some protected groups. Close your water (or other ingress-) pipes with solenoids, rather than mechanical valves, such that when the electricity gets shut off, you might flood part of the neighborhood. Figure out something fun for the egress pipes. Create multiple companies that just waste each-other's time, staff them, pay the employees well.

Hire someone to organize and fund protests for the usual (environment, wages, housing, etc) that will take place around the time of your disappearance. Hire another to organize and fund counter-protests to each. Hire someone cheap or have a LLM write a long, difficult to comprehend manifesto (more or less the style of B.T.) Implicating various groups, companies, or persons to be complicit. Borrow and take on as much debt as you can manage.

Everything written pushes something else off the page, or otherwise reduces potential attention towards it. Extreme or illegal images make people not want to be on that website anymore. Spamming lazy opinions shifts the impression of popular consensus away from what else is written. Supporting free expression effectively needs curation, but with the direction that ideas should not be suppressed. Words are not ideas by themselves. >>10740 >war is peace >censorship is freedom of speech Imagine all the sensible posts yours pushed out of the feed. >>6827 Curation is curation, nothing else. It's censorship if there's nowhere else to go and opposing views and criticism is being squashed by the powers that be. Of course it's necessary from the view of an owner of a user content driven site to filter posts, be it to avoid legal repercussions for someone else's upload or enforce some silly requirement that's in the theme of their image board. But the argument that curation means freedom of speech or expression conflates some things that appear to act on separate levels altogether. Like yes, ideally there ought to be spaces of all kinds to support a diverse range of obscure views and opinions and others, which provide a wide overton window to reduce the overall amount of echo chambers and pull people out of the crazy corners. Also there should be general policies implemented by everyone, which curtail such things as you mentioned which are either illegal or are in the ball park of defamation or shouting fire in a crowded theatre, and so on. Some common sense censorship if you may. However, we do not have the former and it's difficult to expect only one side to play nice and lawful so I'm not sure that under such circumstances the latter can be guaranteed. There's on one hand a spare time mod spending his time cleaning up their niche subreddit for free, although even that can get to a person's head and cause power trips. And then there's heavy handed tools being utilized, like blocking traffic at a back bone level or law enforcement going against mean tweets while children are being raped. This in turn creates the need for methods to circumvent any speech laws whatsoever and contemplate less civil actions. I guess what I'm saying is that things ain't as clear cut and also maybe someone should handle this Bill Gates guy who seems to be getting out of hand.

It could definitely happen, but it's more likely "the system" will quickly adapt to your presence and probably benefit from it somehow. That doesn't mean you won't make life under "the system" less miserable, though. Doing all the random crap that people have suggested here aren't things that will really make any waves. Go ahead and pour concrete in your toilet, though, if it'll vent the frustrations you clearly have for the world. You'll piss off your landlord and maybe make the local news, but it's a contingency that capitalists have planned for and will ultimately mean nothing.

>>10736 I wonder if that could actually work. Also, if it works with microwaves, could it work with visible light? Like flash an LED right into your eyes instead of a magnetron? The implementation doesn't seem too difficult, it's just a voltage-to-frequency converter followed by a monostable flip-flop. And before anyone asks, I wouldn't use it on other people, but myself. Self-hypnosis can be very useful.

>>11323 It is called brainwave entrainment I believe. Same thing as binaural beats and isochronic tones. You can do it with light. Think about how a small minority of people with seizures are photosensitive to strobing lights. All this does if anything is alter what is the dominating brainwave.

>>6519 >What's the most disruptive thing this person could do/build/fund with their money? Buy entire shipments of cheap booze and drop in the streets of the most impoverished neighborhood. >How can they best challenge the late-stage capitalist dystopia? That's not the same thing at all. Keep in mind: if someone make money from it, you are not fighting capitalism, you are fueling it. Break a windows and the glass man get rich. I suppose, buy a plot of land and grow your own food. Now when you eat, nobody get rich. >>10910 Transformers need to be cooled to not take fire. That's why there is an oil tank on top of them and a pump. Whatever you do, do not shoot the pipe because then the oil would leak and the transformer would heat, leading to some insulation melting and that would destroy the transformer. So don't do it, it's illegal. And the only thing you will achieve is to get your housing block in a blackout. The city will have to buy a new one and somebody will make money. >>10880 Maybe that explain why halfchan have constant porn dumps on every board.
