Wood sculpture

No thread on wood sculpture so let me open one. Mods, do your work if I'm wrong.
OK I did pic rel, spoiled cause male meat protuberance.
I may or may not use it in some of my meat holes (it's quite big cause inspired by my personal meat protuberance).
It's an old oak piece of wine barrel (almost 100 years) and I like the idea (wine, earth, prosperity symbolism), turned and sculpted with love and devotion with wood scissors and file. Finished with some oil/varnish mix.
I did it part for the lulz, part for religious purpose.
Not really /cyb but /Δ anyway and Lainchan is one of the few IB I use. Mods, again fell free to...

How does a wooden dick pertain to your religion?

Not OP, but in some religions dicks are really important.

How does a insert something/someone pertain to your religion?
Meat is temporary, everything before its ends is larping so why not.

As much as I want to support you, I think there is a risk.
Since the wood is a porous surface, bacteria may seep and thrive into it very easily, damaging the thing (think of wooden chopping boards).
I've heard stories where girls forgot to remove something porous object down there and suffered a septic shock.
What 'people here' do instead is 3d print stuff like that and throw in some arduino motors and soykaf.
Well don't worry, you're very welcome here. This isn't some alt-meme cult chan.

Are you talking to op?
If it is the case, I invite you to read op again. Slowly.
If not, thanks for your generous advice.

Wood was worked with care and is polished with an alimentary compatible oil/varnish mix. I don't really plan to use it because it's quite big (inspired by myself) and I don't usually play with big things when I need to stimulate my prostate (it's more the shape than the tall). I should be very fuarrrking horny to plan it. Anyway thanks for your advice.
It was first made because I want a dick statue to honor good fortune. Using it is an option.

3d printing is probably even worse, especially if you were to use it more than once, since stuff will get stuck between the layers and will be impossible to clean.

Yes. But wouldn't be possible to give a more polished aspect?
Anyway, I personally prefer wood because the symbolic and esthetic aspect of it. Plus it was a real pleasure to work it. Some layers of the piece still smell like old wine to.

How long do you all think it too to make these?
First one is a wooden Wodanaz (Voe-dan-osch) statue. Second is some other pagan statue but I do not know which deity it is trying to represent. The third is possibly Svetovid, a Slavic and somewhat Germanic deity who is represent with multiple faces to represent possibly different aspects and overseeing in different directions at once.

2nd - modern sculpture of Perun.
3rd - modern sculpture of Svantevit near Arkona. It has nothing todo with Germanics as far as we know. Svetovid is not a diety but XIX century name for so called "Zbruch Idol" not diety/dieties it portrays.

I want to make a cedar frame umpc but are afraid that the crystallization will harm the computer. I love the smell.

What do you mean by "crystallization?" Overall, I think wooden computer cases aren't a great idea, because wood combusts very easily compared to other materials, and some computer components get quite hot.

he probably means sap
also to put wood on fire you need high temperature
Technician · 2021-08-27 09:15
>>7315
The heat from the computer will make it leak sap and they call that crystallization of which protects it form pests and decay and also smells good. I figure it might gunk up a computer.
>>7324
Yes. I'd not expect a fire but the sap will be an issue unless I varnish it or whatever but then the smell would be gone...

Why don't you use a metal case as a base, and make some wooden panels for it? That'd be cool.

I might end up using polymer clay that you can cook in a normal oven to harden for near the entire thing. It'd be easier to work with anyway than wood when you have no tools except a drill and a serrated knife (my cigar box pi zero experiment did not end well). The clay is so expensive though. I'm a super-neet and all.
Anyway, metal would be hard to drill to for the soc to be anchored into place nor any of it's peripherals and also glue would not work out well either, so wood and plastic sounds better. Unless I use aluminum or something, an aluminum plate. I wonder how much it will all run for? I'd rather go with just one medium for the frame.
One thing I figured I'd try is to lay down cellophane tape before putting the stuff down onto the wood on the inside but leaving the outside with nothing over it, or varnishing the inside with actual varnish rather than tape, that way there will be a protecting layer to keep the sap away.
Cedar planks though harder to work with seem to be cheaper for the surface area it'd cover also.
I'm torn as usual and might have to forgo making my perfect custom computer for even longer.
Odds are I'll end up not doing anything at all due to being destitute and easily stressed and conflicted.
I 'drew' this image in mspaint with my touchpad whilst contemplating...it'll be polymer clay or wood, or both...If cedar it'll get painted red and no longer smell so good though so that's kinda sad. Or I could varnish it, it'd make it look pretty but not very much red like it ought to be.

You could make just the face plate wood and the back aluminium or you could make small sections wood as a decoration.

>so add that I forgot to draw the wood's back
It'd be a flat square anyway... poor 12 didn't get to exist.
>>7330
Perhaps, but the face is meant to cave inwards. I really need a saw more than anything and a hot glue gun for the part around the monitor and to also glue the monitor in place, a cheap 15ish, 18ish, usd one of which I already have bought.
Considering wood won't reach it's flashpoint by under 300 degrees I wonder if I could fire the polymer around wood, holding it in two pieces that would be later drilled together after using a hot glue gun to put all the computer parts inside of it. The wood could stay flatter that way, sticking to squares and no sharp angles at edges needed either. That'd make, so says I, 2-7 plastic-clay material and the rest wood squares with flat edges. I could make it really fat and keep all the wood shapes the same shape even, using three our four for the backside, just one for 1, 2 of them for 9 and 10, one for 11, and also I forgot again something, top is a weird shape so that along with 2-7 would be plastic-clay, number 8.
The clay will shrink though so if I did 'fire'/cook them together it might crack all over. That'd be the real issue, I'd have to waste clay to calculate the percentage it shrinks and then try to do geometry to make it big enough for the wood parts. Red polymer 'clay' might look cool with cedar wood if I coated it to make it more red looking, varnish brings out the red pretty sure. The weight of the wood might fracture the plastic anyway if not thick enough. It really ends up costing too much for me currently so I should just find a bookshelf or something and forget cedar all together and use normal wood + polymer clay.
...you can drill polymer clay they say after it is fired, perhaps I wouldn't need glue at all...
>thinking 'aloud' is super fun isn't it?
It'd be a hoot to use real clay but I'm not in HS with access to a kiln anymore. I was a teacher's assistant with ceramics so I can probably do that part perfectly, the off-shaped wood not so much even with a drill until I'd have practice I am sure. Before I even considered cedar, outside of walking sticks and or flutes, I wanted to make a ceramic case for a computer as it'd be nice to have a computer frame out there that'd last for thousands of years. Everyone else's will decay. Polymer will crumble too, but not real ceramics. I wish I had a kiln, but now I've gone off topic too much. About flutes, i once tried to make one from a stick someone found in a national forest that was cedar but was a child, impoverished as now I am still an eternal neet, but back then about 14 years ago I used a broken blind's internal rod to sharpen it into a hand drill using a sidewalk to do so, the sharpening part. It splintered as i tried and after days probably only made it three inches or so. I like wood, cedar especially, but probably really suck all things considered.
Anyway, if I ever do get to make a ceramic frame somehow logically it'd be in two pieces after time went by so that's a rather petty sentiment a bit. It'd need to be as you can't fire it, obviously, with the pieces in it, and whatever you use to make the two stick together won't last as long as the rest of the thing(s). But if I did do that I'd go ahead and make a cotton lined wooden box for it. It'd probably end up very oval shaped knowing ceramics and me. Not that it matters, the real question is of course how wise is it to use polymer on top of cedar wood? Or I could just give up it looking dweeb tier and make it a literal square/rectangle with a screen shaped hole in it. That'd be the easy way. I already made a paper model one time to see how it'd work out. I'd make a shutter for the lcd of course if I did that. But back to the child's Navi, it'd be cool if one could make a keyboard to slide in over it's dipped in lcd to protect it. Enough polymer and you could make a sort of 'jacket' for a keyboard and make it slide in with tracks and put a locking mechanism at the top.
Maybe if I could pick a frame that people don't hate and method that's cheap enough I could even make two and sell one some day and stop, eventually, being a neet. Yeah, probably never going to happen.
>ceramic imac inspired design that is off topic
So bored...
