Nintendo Power Glove

Project 2501 · 2019-12-02 06:14
Within various books by latter-half Timothy Leary (Including ''Chaos and Cyberculture'' along with ''Infopsychology'') along with various documentaries I have seen, 1980's Hobbyist VR made use of the Nintendo Powerglove https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_Glove I am curious if there are still interface programs floating around to interface with the CGI environment. I am very interested as they obviously discovered its control codes in order to allow it to be an input device to Non-Nintendo Hardware. I am interested in potentaily making a VR Cyberpunk Environment and using these input drivers to have the Poweglove as my interface. Here's a bigger question: Is anyone here old enough to have actually used one of these hobbyist systems involving street-hacks of the Powerglove? I know it was the Power Glove, beause iirc they said so. They made it a street version of the concept of a Wired Glove https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wired_glove

>>3787 Here is another question: Is the long-forgotten VRML worthwhile to learn?

>>3788 It is my understanding that VRML is used a lot somewhere. Not very informative I know but I just remember I saw it once somewhere more recently.

If you download the supplemental iso for RedHat 2.0 it includes a linux powerglove driver and instructions to build an interface to use it with a serial port but obviously this was a long time ago so I forget.
