healthy cookies
XERXES · 2026-04-21 11:37
Is such a thing even possible?
I love cookies in the morning, that's the one thing I could never live without.
Unfortunately, almost the entirety of commercially available ones are mostly made of toxic soykaf, mainly:
A) refined wheat
B) seed oils
C) sugar
So I'm trying to see whether it's possible to make cookies that taste almost as good as commercial ones without resorting to such garbage.
As for A) I think replacing them with whole grains should suffice.
As for B), replacing them with with coconut oil is undoubtly the best option.
As for C), I have no clue. Do you know anything that tastes sweet without having sugar in it?

1. what's wrong with refined wheat, seed oils or sugar in small amounts?
2. how does eating cookies register as an unhealthy thing for you, (unless you eat half a kilo every morning) what are you trying to reach triple digits? there was that 100 something year old vietnam vet who was smoking and drinking you know
3. oats, butter/olive oil, honey.

>A) refined wheat
As you said, whole-grain flour is good. You can also use different grains/flours. Oat is common, chestnut tastes nice, buckwheat too, lentil has more proteins.
>B) seed oils
What's with americans' obsession with seed oil? It's generally healthier than saturated fat, right? I personally use butter because it tastes better, but I wouldn't consider it healthier.
>coconut oil
Is coconut not a seed to you?
>C) sugar
Most commercial cookies are too sweet. Artificial sweeteners are cancerogen. Keep using sugar, just use a smaller amount. Honey or evaporated fruit juice are alternatives, but are a bit harder to use because of the water content.
You can also scrap the fat and sugar and make bread instead.

oat or rice flour are the best options to substitute wheat flour I use both on cakes, as for cookies rice flour would be the best option it tastes even better than wheat flour.

>refined wheat
i tried many non-grain flours, coconut was the tastiest, but all of them lack consistency for the cookie, they fall apart easily. For this reason i use an extra amount of eggs in them. A middle ground option is a grain that is lower in glycemic index and lower in the kind.of harmful proteins wheat have, this is oat flour. Better consistency than coconut, almond, whatever, but still not as good as wheat
>seed oil
the obvious option is butter. the second one is coconut oil.
>sugar
i tried many times to sweeten cookies with stevia, but it never turned out good. Erythritol works great, substitutes sugar perfectly, but there are concerns about its healthiness. Some say it murders your gut flora and fuarrrks with hormone levels, etc, i don't know. Lot of people use monk fruit as a sugar substitute in cookies but i never tried it, maybe it's worth a try.
Also maybe try to make cookies a twice a week thing and on the remaining days, try to replace them with fresh fruits, try to find your favorite one, grapes are great for this purpose imo.

Unfortunately, almost the entirety of commercially available ones are mostly made of toxic soykaf, mainly: CARBS and CHEAP FAT
You want healthy cookies - make cookie-like recipes based on fried eggs, let alone microwaved eggs.
(THat's my... honest suggestion. Sorry.)

>maple sugar

Seed oils become bad only in cases of long cook times or high heat. If it is cold pressed oils those are even more likely to be healthy. Technically you can make no bake cookies to avoid any heat exposure and that makes it even healthier when using cold pressed oils.

vegans figured this out decades ago
>quaker oats
>apple sauce
>raisins
>bake them thin
>eat with peanut butter on top

>what's wrong with [harmful thing] in small amounts?

>what's wrong with refined wheat, seed oils or sugar in small amounts?
When they are in literally fuarrrking EVERYTHING, and you eat them every day, the "small amounts" quickly pile up to a huge amount.
> what are you trying to reach triple digits?
No I just want to avoid cancer or diabetes

>It's generally healthier than saturated fat, right?
Nope they're actually worse
>Is coconut not a seed to you?
Different from most seed oils, it's mainly saturated fat, it also has many vitamins

>toxic soykaf like carbs
lol what carbs have broadly speaking been a dietary staple for decades if not literally the entierty of recorded history. If they're toxic then we're all toast.

not to say anything against fat or suchlike, and obviously being keto is fine, but it does not appear to have a huge health increasing effect afaict
>all this talk of REFINED HWEAT
>no one talking about enrichment
