I created the Galatea Multipurpose Companion Maid Robot. It is designed to be an IRL robo-maid girl. Local AI means you can talk with her, and she has actual practical uses. She's also very customizable, you can choose the color, dress, head, hair, and even which AI you use.
I intentionally designed her to be easy to build with the instructions.
I intend this to be the Model T of humanoid robots and robotic companions, while it is not the most complex, it is easy to mass produce and cheap. She's basically an open-source humanoid robot platform that's affordable for most hobbyists, with near-infinite possibilities and uses.

Current version as of this post is version 3.0.8(USER WAS WARNED FOR THIS POST, You should always elaborate on your opinions rather than just spilling the soykaf. You really need to watch イヴの時間)

>I intend this to be the Model T of humanoid robots and robotic companions, while it is not the most complex, it is easy to mass produce and cheap.
In my humble opinion you have created the moped of humanoid robots (gets you around in terms of companionship, but you cannot expect her to be used as a workhorse of a machine)
>She's basically an open-source humanoid robot platform that's affordable for most hobbyists, with near-infinite possibilities and uses.
I have five suggestions open to explore!
1. You can already see the Fumo Sakuya on Roomba meme used. And that's good, you would make some money thanks to a meme that was crucial to the Fumo Touhou sub-fandom.
2. Would a harness of batteries on her would look cyberpunkish or elegant? Maybe both?
3. I would suggest installing one more phone on Galatea's wrist as an another companion, as Galatea's her own companion to chat with. Being able to speak with both at the same time would be a new step.
4. Could you please try and explore how it feels to put a backpack (or a pouch) on her so you could always grab a snack from her compartment without getting off your couch.
5. Hitachi magic wand or some other electric massager. Also, a smoke detector so she could raise the alarm early

not for me but impressive that you came up with all that, i can see it going far!

Robots should look like robots and people should look like people.

Good point
2. If she did need that much batteries, I could definitely do that
3. The AI is actually not in the mini-phone, but that's due to technical limitations. I'm curious about the idea for a robot friend of a robot friend, that would definitely be interesting
4. There's a basket accessory for the claw, and she can wear a fanny pack
5. Interesting idea for the massager. As for the smoke detector, I would think that would be redundant, but don't let me dissuade you.

Thank you! :)
>>13600
That's why I didn't try to make her look too human

Fellow Nandroid Appreciator!

That's impressive, and she can really clean.
Good job.

It give me murder drones vibes.

Galatea has been updated to v3.0.9. She now has a new body with more aesthetic ratios, and new accessories.

Sorry, wrong term. I was thinking of monooxide detector and other "silent" threats detectors alike; that could hopefully work since Gala-chan slowly moves around.

Emmy :)

I kind of unironically like how the story involves a large real-life company as "the corpo that started it"

The website should be back up now.

people don't want this
if they would you could charge money for it
you'd go bankrupt
but you're too much of a coward to actually follow through with that anyways

but what if it is what OP wants? huh? ever thought of that, punk?

Reminds me of GTA 2's Radio[station] "HEAD" with quite a logo

Some more pictures
1. "Hello!"
2. Her modularity

Women should be cherished not objectified like this
GreerTech · 2026-06-13 01:44
>>13907
I see this as cherishing in it's own way
Anyway, why can't robots be girls? Robots can be boys all the time. Seems sexist to me.

Cute!
Big doll :)
Long legs, also, not a tiny 15cm figurine

To "objectify" means to treat a person as an object, tool, or commodity rather than as a complete human being.
In this thread, we are dealing with different situation. The object is treated as a person. Therefore, it is personified or anthropomorphized. There is no reason to think that the author is objectifying women just because he anthropomorphized a robot as a female companion.

neat. are there any new features you're working on ? Or refinements etc ?
Delilah · 2026-06-15 16:50
The face on this thing is freaky as hell, and I don't really like any of the alternative heads better. There's gotta be some way to make it look less uncanny.
Cool concept tho
Dujour · 2026-06-16 09:07
>>13921
In my opinion, "pixel art eyes" on plastic faces are not as uncanny as silicon faces that look like paralyzed people (see >>13600) unless your uncanny valley legit falls into the Murder Drones' character design
>>13905
Cute. She looks like a 90s cosplay model in these photos now.
Come to think of it, she looks like her body could be used as a bluetooth headphones station (carry+charge="docking station"), alarm clock carry (a bonnet with four 7-segments) and her dress could use some strong incense packs :) Sealable, of course.

>moped
Or rather, an electric bike - think of crowds of 1990s Chinese guys riding bikes in Beijing without dealing with traffic jams (unlike the present date@present time Chinese t-jams)
XERXES · 2026-07-27 02:50
You probably should get your Galathea a flask bra.
If it's not for the "bra" part, then it's for the "flask" part. You shouldn't get dehydrated while watching TV :)

i second the flamethrower idea for the lulz. what's a good cook, if they can't achieve peak temperatures in record time?
