Wearing my Aiden Pearce-themed clothes again.
Oh, and my father got be Goethe's Werter themed coat - I think I will start wearing it soon.

I almost entirely wear thrifted clothes. I spend 5 out of 7 days every week at work, where I am required to dress a certain way. If I am paying for work clothes out of pocket I am not spending tons of money when I can find something clean and undamaged for 5-10 bucks when even the cheapest jeans at Walmart are stupid expensive.
Gyula Kovacs · 2025-12-13 16:56
Thrift stores have plenty of quality stuff if you're willing to check the good ones in your area once or twice a month. Learn to make patches and paint patches/clothes and you'll be able to completely customize anything. The only things I don't recommend cheaping out on are shoes and belts. A good leather belt will last for at least a decade, and good shoes are just important to have.

What's stopping you from learning? Have you ever tried to learn before? If you've already tried was there something you couldn't complete or a particular part that you couldn't do?
I just use a cheap pack of sewing needles and dollar store floss to make patches or fix clothes. Floss is just a few woven threads coated in scented wax. More durable than just thread. After making a few patches you'll get a hang for sewing small, straight lines of stitches and maybe understand the hand movements for some basic but more stylish techniques.
Also for painting patches you can just mix acrylic paint with fabric softener in a 1:1 ratio. I recommend getting a set of dollar store brushes and trying both painting with them normally and with a brush that you let dry into something similar to a chisel. Take a brush, gum the bristles with paint, squish flat between your fingers, let dry, and cut the dried edge smooth. I prefer the latter method but YMMV.

Real spiffy if you ask me.
Motoko Kusanagi · 2025-12-14 01:37
My chosen outfits are 80s us army woodland camo pattern clothes.
Most of the time when i go out i wear one of my military vests and usually my army jacket depending on conditions.
I got them filled with survival equipment and etc, each one slotted for different purposes, the jacket for example has extra heavy gloves for when it gets really cold.
Also bought me some patches and rank insignia for that extra touch, im also gonna add some stylish and functional jewlery like stuff later on.
Later on too i will add electronics and gagetry like builtin lights and stuff so i always have everything at the ready for any situation i could get into.

There's a cigarette burn in the back of my leather jacket, I wanna sew a big patch on the back to hide the burn.
What patch would look good? Looking for recommendations I never purchased a patch before.

You could patch it , or you could leave it as a war scar , reminds me a bit of the hand scar from the movie fight club
Cowboy · 2026-02-06 11:12

A patch there would look out of place. It's better to have multiple patches if you want it to look decent. I'd just leave it there.
You can buy patches off kommandostore, etsy, or make them yourself. you'll need a printer(optional), acryllic paint, a razor/exacto knife, and a black piece of cloth or denim.

The jacket looks really good, all my friends love it, there's also a 3 patch on the sleeve, because tiger ranks 3rd in the chinese zodiac race myth.
Because of this my friends have been getting into the idea that each of us should get a chinese zodiac animal outfit.
Any ideas on what would be a good clothing piece/fit for each animal? We're all kinda broke btw

I wear some "plaid khakis". It feels comfy, compared to heavy jeans. Ugh. Heavy jeans give me rash.

Unfortunately not all us us are capable of pulling off the cowboy look or the hard boiled private eye look.
Lady Jessica · 2026-05-28 07:35
Usually I wear:
Gildan branded graphic t-shirt underneath and a plaid oxford short sleeve button-down shirt (generally branded by Van Heusen or Arrow), pleated or not khaki-style high-waisted polyester pants from Haggar, white crew socks, black leather oxford shoes, black Casio digital wristwatch, Ray-Ban black horn rectangular glasses (with or w/o a glasses strap).
Pretty nerdy-ish but I'm pretty OK with it.

I try to keep myself as covered as possible. I wear jackets even in summer, but right now I'm only in my underwear because I'm at home where no one can see me.

I recently described one of my outfits as 'gay linen pirate' and another as 'rusty beach scavenger'. I really dislike the latter as it's too masculine and people interact with me differently while I wear it - probably because my mannerisms are completely at odds with the effect, making me look like a weirdo you wouldn't want to see interacting with children.
'Gay pirate' transitions into 'meek street janitor' by way of a cardigan and darker olive layers, while a third oversized outfit of pastel greens and khaki feels like I'm a hobbit fruit gardener.
Womens clothes are far more interesting to wear and shop for and when layered don't always look out of place on men :)
