How possible is it to change an x220s motherboard for a t440p? It should fit but i haven't anyone who has done the transplant.
I need the thinkpad wizards to help me.

I'm very sure that the T440p doesn't have the same keyboard connector, display connector or palmrest connector to an x220. You would have to find a way to do it. The motherboard outputs for the USB and displayport aren't in the same place, the standoffs for the screws are different and the fan is completely different. You're trying to translate a motherboard from a classic era lenovo thinkpad to modern era and it's unlikely to be possible. There is no softmod for the bios to change the embedded controller, you would have to do it the hard way, manually reprogramming it. You would have to CAD draft the motherboard, all the ABS housings from both models, counter for the tolerances in 3d printing or casting your own and force each component to work. It's definitely not worth the expense or effort but you're welcome to try it.
What exactly is your use case here? Just upgrade to an x230, it has the same connections, except for a mini displayport. Frankenpad components are the keyboard, palmrest, touchpad and the entire screen assembly. The hardest thing you could need to do is resoldering a more powerful BGA1023 processor, but you're unlikely to need it if you wait patiently for 2.9ghz i7 3520m. Sell the T440p to a normal person and downgrade into the x230, you have more options.

Not OP, Since this is 'thinkpad modding' can I ask if anyone knows how I can add a true serial input output to an x230? I think it may require some soldering perhaps? sorry for noob understanding, I say "true serial" as I was reading, someone said usb serial adapters are not true serial and susceptible to usb exploits. What bus does serial actually run on? Can I just do something with the mini-pcie connectors? I'm not using those. But don't mind soldering as well. I have schematics, if need be. Thanks!
