I’ve heard of people making crystals using chemical reactions and wanted to know if anyone had any recipes/methods.(USER WAS WARNED FOR THIS POST, You should always elaborate on your opinions rather than just spilling the soykaf.)

I guess big chunks sodium chloride for dishwasher is a good start.
Boil water or better distilled water.
Pour in a bowl. Add some sodium chloride.
Try to dissolve them much as possible.
Cold water can't dissolve much like hot water.
Slowly pour in second bowl to seperate the rest of sodium chloride that didn't dissolve further.
Coffee filter is a good alternative but not necessary.
Leave the bowl with oversaturated sodium chloride until crystals have formed.
You want a bigger crystal?
Repeat this procedure and put crystal in cooled down water to grow further.

Copper sulfate makes pretty blue crystals. You can buy it in gardening stores (it's a fungicide). Follow the same procedure as >>12127.
It's a good idea to put your dish in a warm and well ventilated place to accelerate evaporation. But don't make it too warm or you will get less pretty crystals.
Basically, most solids that you can dissolve in water can be crystallized that way. Have fun with your cleaning supplies!

Nice thread. It got me wondering:
could this be a reasonable side hustle??

I've had someone try to sell me copper sulfate crystals artificial crystals made under high pressure with the latest technology for as much as the (rather large) ametysts in the next stand, so maybe.
I doubt he really had much success though, considering that some of his crystals looked like they were damaged by moisture.

My first thought is you would make similar or better money for less work by buying crystals/gems in bulk and reselling them.
