3D Printing General

Anything and everything involving 3D printing! Where do you have access to a printer, college, work, or at home? What projects have you used it for in the past? What projects are you working on currently? Pics or GTFO. Not really, any level of discussion is welcome Do you make all your models from scratch, or do you incorporate stuff you found online into your work? What repositories do you use? What's one thing you've learned about 3d printing through your experience you wish you had known when you started? Currently I'm working on designing a shell for my Rpi laptop project, but I'm having trouble finding a model that offers the kind of hinge I need. Most of the ones I've looked at don't make enough friction and don't stay open and upright. Anyone have any recommendations for models or examples that helped them with a similar issue?

>>508 got an FDM 3d printer to make parts for a "gameboy zero" (raspberry pi emulating retro games in a DMG-01 case). Annoying to print large or complex things as any issues with the flow, clogs, too cold in the room you print, etc can fuarrrk up the print. Haven't printed anything in about a month because of this. Probably going to sell it and buy an SLA printer. Basically instead of a reel of plastic that gets melted and pushed through an extruder, it's a pool of UV sensitive resin. A platform from above dips into the resin and a laser shines from underneath the resin to cure it into hard plastic and the platform slowly raises with each layer until the object is pulled from the resin bath. Resin is more expensive than the reels of filament for FDM printing, but once I find a reasonably priced printer that I can use 3rd party resin I will 100% buy one because it's much easier to get good prints.
