'Permanent' catheter for drug experimentation
Lady Jessica · 2017-07-16 13:36
I want to test research drugs. Mostly through IV route. I don't want to stick a needle in my vain every time I need to inject something.
Does anyone know if there's any solution like an catheter, but very small, that can be used everyday? Something like this, but very small:

I know about jet injectors, but they are not cheap and you can't find them normally. I'm welcome to alternatives, though.
ps. no it's not degeneracy. I'll not inject these new psychdelics and designer drugs, I want to experiment mainly with nootropics and memory mechanisms.

Mind sharing details on what kind of drugs you're experimenting on, this is kinda interesting.

Mainly neurogenic and synaptogenic drugs. See >>>/drg/566 . But also old school psychedelics (ibogaine, DMT, harmine) and other drugs (memantine, modafinil, phenibut, etc).

there are such things as long term catheters, but usually you need to keep either a. a steady stream of fluid, or b. regularly flush the catheter. Another risk you run is getting a severe infection.

these can be pricey, and might be not accessible to non medical individuals because of drug use reasons depending on your area.
Also amazon sells "trainer" kits and "travel" kits that come with different needles and valves.

it's called a stint, not a catheter. Catheters are where they stick a tube into your bladder because you can't pee.

I've ahd other friends try this, anon. the isue is keeping it clean and not getting an infection. IV isn't difficult once you get hte hang of it anyways and if you rotate and use new rigs each time you should be able to keep your veins, depending on what you're injecting.

It is often also called a catheter.

leaving anything sticking out of you is always a massive risk of infection, even in a pretty sterile environment like a hospital. Going about your daily life with anything trans-dermal in you is a pretty bad idea. Junkies have been injecting themselves every day for decades as long as you don't share needles which doesn't seem like it will apply to you. Also people with diabetes inject themselves very regularly pretty harmlessly.
But from the examples you give I don't really see any reason to inject those substances when you can just use other means to get them into your system that are much more suited to daily use.

Needles aren't that bad once you get used to them. Unless you plan on pumping yourself with drugs five times a day I really would advice against it.

You can't insert a midline by yourself. Anytime you're dealing with veins you need to look for blowout meaning what you're injecting isn't going into your bloodstream, but the surrounding tissue. You'll also need to flush at least twice a day with saline if you're not attached to a pump. Push all the air out too unless you want to stroke out. Good luck!

What about insulin infusion sets?
There are some with a flexible "needle" so maybe you can use that to target a vein you already pierced, else there are needle ones.
It's pretty inconspicuous especially if you don't really need to target a vein but you can keep the needle on your belly like a regular insulin shot, also it shouldn't be that hard to come by. I'm not sure how much they'll cost though, including the pump soykaf might get expensive.

sounds feasible, except they seem to be and inserted in the fatty tissue, rather than directly linked into the circulatory system. I don't think that would have an adverse effect with using amphetamines or the likes, but if trans-dermal absorption is desired, making an adhesive patch might be a techy way of going about creating a delivery system (depends on substance)
There are chemicals that aid in skin absorption

It is actually one of the best methods of consuming. It is a larger release and you don't have to worry about needles or messing up.
