What do you do with your bundle of cords? My cable situation is far too bad to post here so what are some easy fixes or tips to make my station a little cleaner. I dig the hanging and tangled lab a e s t h e t i c but I think it's time for something a bit tidier. Any cabling books/sites/resources are also super helpful.

Zip ties are your friend. Just plan out a good organized pattern and follow through.

This, zip ties are simple and effective at what they do. My only problem with them is if I need to add more wires.
I picked up velcro zipties because of this gripe and they are the best investment I ever made on cable management. They're just as useful as zipties but you can also undo them if you want to for whatever reason.
They're a bit more expensive than regular plastic zip ties but it pays off in the longrun because you can use the same set of 100 for years.

If you must, Velcro ties. Check with the sysadmins at your workplace, they'll usually have a cabinet or two of old Velcro ties that never get used.

I kinda don't manage them

i use a combination of velcro tie/strap things and pic related.
its basically just a tube of thin plastic with a long cut up the side of it; easy to snap cables into it.
it can be a problem to pull just *one* of the wires out if you ever need to remove it (you end up pulling all of them out) but fortunately that doesnt happen very often.

this lain knows whats up.
real zip ties are for desktop chassis and any sort of permanent structure. Outside them velcro zip ties are the bee's knees. I have +100' of that same plastic hose to keep my cat from gnawing on that my cables and I recommend it over any other design. Especially that spiral bullsoykaf. I had to deal with that soykaf when helping a friend move. No thank you. Sure it /feels/ more sturdy but it's soykaf for getting at and removing cords.

yea velcro zipties are great. I use them for music cable management, I don't have enough computer wires to warrant using them there (yet) but I'm sure it'll work for what you need.
