Cooking

Friendly reminder: DIY has a recipe repo. https://gitla.in/nimbius/recipes

I'd like to add some recipes, but I don't live on the US, therefore I'm unfamiliar with units like "cup".

>>175 The repo states: >Keep things in metric when possible. I interpret that as encouraging not using those strange measures.

Should probably format those in LaTeX so it looks pretty, xcookybooky or cuisine classes?

>>175 cups are very simple, just use any normal-sized coffee-cup you have lying around, as long as you use the same one across the whole recipe, it should work out

>>202 this is bad advice for the record - i take it the poster wasn't serious, but mug sizes vary significantly and this can lead to some big conflicts between ratios to other ingredients. >>175 here's a handy conversion chart: http://www.jsward.com/cooking/conversion.shtml >>113 i love to cook and have a ton of recipes, i'll upload some when i have the time

>>203 it's only bad advice if the recpie calls for other measurements. cups is a standard size now but if the whole recipie is in cups you can just call it a ratio

added ribs. https://gitla.in/nimbius/recipes/commit/ce25e1c66a01c6f77583517a9496a4a0e4bdecd4 this recipe is a braise, however the addition of smoked paprika gives it a more authentic flavour.

>>230 On a whim, I've shoved the rib recipe itself into the *recipe* latex package. Fairly minimalist, but so are a bunch of disconnected text files and this seems to be fairly easy to collate into a single .pdf for the entire cookbook if we so wish.

>>113 Gitla.in is no longer in function. Did anybody manage to make a copy of the repo before it all disappeared?

>>678 90% sure that darkengine did and put it up on laintracker

moved it out to github once the gitlain died. updated the laundry detergent recipe to make enough for about 3 months added kebab. https://github.com/nimbius/recipes
